Federal Auditor Jobs description
A federal auditor job involves auditing of financial risk, financial reporting, and accounting transactions processes including controls. A federal auditor will review and evaluate complex federal financial statements, supervise and review work performed by other staff and interact with the manager on client and team matters. A federal auditor will determine trends among grantees and identify ways of improving grantee financial management practices in line with federal regulations and cost principles. A federal auditor conducts cost analysis and reviews of grants, monitors cost overruns, and provides support to federal staff when an adverse action or disallowance is taken against a grantee. A federal auditor will provide overall budget analysis and monitor funding levels.A federal auditor job requires a BA/ BS degree in accounting or a related discipline from an accredited college/ university. A federal auditor should have 5+ years of experience with federal grants management, financial management, or a related field. A federal auditor should have ability to conduct audit analyses and project cost analyses and to review financial statements and budgets. A federal auditor must pay strict attention to detail and quality assurance. A federal auditor must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
