SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the AVP Internal Audit Manager plans and conducts periodic internal audits of bank activities. Will conduct internal audits as assigned including report preparation and follow up to provide independent and objective feedback on bank operations and controls. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Under the supervision of the AVP Internal Audit Manager, performs general routine audits of internal operations and regulatory compliance of bank’s books, records, procedures, and performance according to corporate audit guidelines. a. Perform individual audit assignments in an accurate and timely manner. b. Obtain, analyze and evaluate evidence obtained to form a conclusion on the adequacy of the area’s procedures, processes and internal controls. c. Prepare audit work papers related to the audit. d. Meet with related management/staff to discuss findings. e. Prepare the audit report in a manner that clearly and accurately reflects the audit findings. f. Follow up to ensure all findings are corrected. 2. Will assist conducting unannounced branch audits. 3. Assists AVP Audit Manager with more complex audits by gathering the necessary information, analyzing that information and the preparation of workpapers related to the assigned task. 4. Assists as assigned with exams performed by regulators and audits performed at the request of Management by third parties: a. Regulatory Compliance Exam b. Regulatory Safety & Soundness Exam c. Director’s Exam d. Other Assigned 3rd Party Exams/Audits 5. Remain informed of changes to regulations, bank policies, procedures and products. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs other duties as may be assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 1. Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field highly preferred or equivalent combination of course work, training and work experience. 2. Minimum one year auditing experience required. General Banking experience highly preferred. 3. Proven analytical skills, detail oriented with high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines. 4. Computer proficiency with MS products including Outlook, Word and Excel required. 5. Ability to exercise discretion and tactfully handle sensitive and confidential information when working with internal customers and adhering to all policies. 6. Individual must be a self-starter and conscientious with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 7. Ability to effectively communicate under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy. Listening and understanding internal/external customers; giving high priority to customer satisfaction. 8. Valid driver’s license to travel to other branch locations for site audits. Other office equipment as needed PHYSICAL DEMANDS: •Must be able to hear well enough to communicate and discern tone in the voice. •Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely. •Normal daily physical activities to include, walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling. •Must be able to read reports and use computer.
