This is a Tax Auditor II position in the General Tax Administration Program, Field Operations Process in the Miami Service Center. The incumbent will independently perform audits of taxpayers conducting business in Florida to determine tax compliance as it relates to Florida Statutes. The incumbent will also examine and analyze accounting systems of taxpayers, compute tax assessments or refund adjustments, prepare detailed reports of audit results, conduct conferences with taxpayers and/or taxpayers' representatives.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue;
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
Successful completion of five college level semester courses in accounting;
One year of professional accounting or auditing experience, with at least nine of those months performing field audits in Sales and Use Tax within the General Tax Administration audit process;
Experience working with Windows Florida Multi-Tax (WinFMT) and System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
General Tax Administration field audit experience can substitute on a year for year basis for the required degree;
A Master's degree in accounting or area of business or possession of a Certified Public Accounting (C.P.A.) certificate can substitute for one year of the required experience.
