We are seeking a Construction/Engineering Auditor to join the Construction/Engineering Control Review Unit. This position will have responsibility for managing all aspects of a continuous construction review program for all residential construction activities within the Columbia University Facilities and Operations portfolio. This program will focus on the most risky areas of the construction process including invoicing, change orders, pricing, scope, as well as contract accounting, business ethics compliance, design, plan, and specifications compliance both on paper and in the field. It will include visits to job sites before, during and post construction to ascertain if the work and materials installed comply with contracts, RFP's, drawings, specifications, unit or task order pricing and other construction documents. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Bachelor's degree or related experience required; preferably in engineering. Combined engineering, construction management and financial experience is required. A minimum of 3- 5 years of engineering, procurement, estimating and construction skills derived from operational construction experience is required. Sound knowledge of construction management and procurement practices, including project controls, cost estimating, contracting is highly desirable. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, as well as interpersonal and communications skills are required. Experience with computerized Project Management Systems highly preferred (UNIFIER, Maximo). Knowledge of Microsoft office suite products, RSMeans database is necessary. Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
