Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
Two to five years of experience in public accounting, internal auditing, and/or regulatory auditing.
Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
Performs audits in accordance with the approved audit program under supervision of Internal Audit Manager.
Tests adequacy of internal controls in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of control to achieve established objectives.
Obtains, analyzes and appraises evidentiary data as the basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of performance on the activities being reviewed.
Makes recommendations for the correction of deficiencies identified. Prepares for and leads meetings. Appraises the adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions.
Performs audit responsibilities in accordance with the IIA’s Code of Ethics. Maintains high level of confidentiality at all times.
Pursues professional development and professional association memberships.
General knowledge of accounting/financial systems. Specialized knowledge of accounting/finance principles. Specialized knowledge of accounting internal controls and industry standard internal audit practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform basic accounting and audit analyses under moderate supervision.
