The Manager of Joint Interest Billing and Non-Op Audit supervises and leads the team responsible for the various aspects of joint interest billings, accounts receivable collections, payout tracking, and JIB non-op audits. This responsibility includes ensuring the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close processes are completed timely and accurately while developing, managing, and maintaining systems, procedures, policies and staff to ensure adherence to established company guidelines and controls.

Manage and lead a team of employees, including recruiting, hiring, ensuring staff development, recommending proactive strategic improvements and monitoring daily workflow;
Provide performance feedback to staff on a regular basis and prepare and deliver formal performance evaluations;
Lead, maintain and strive to improve all systems, procedures, and controls for the Joint Interest Billing and Non-op Audit function;
Oversee and direct all WI deck ownership changes and reporting;
Ensure the accounting for certain aspects of JIB accounting are completed accurately and timely including monthly allocations, overhead calculations, cutback entries, JIB suspense, etc.;
Determine billable vs non-billable treatment for various transactions;
Manage Payout accounting including identification and notification of wells reaching payout;
Ensure JIB transactions are properly recorded by managing the close process, analyzing data and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations;
Responsible for development and execution of JIB internal controls;
Manage Non-op audit program including proactive planning of scope and timing for coverage, execution of both the conduct and the hosting of audits; Coordinate audit activities with other Managers in the AP/JIB Processing and Accounting and Revenue Departments;
Apply sound and flexible judgment to situations as they arise;
Demonstrate thorough and current knowledge of, and serves as a resource for, industry standards, statutory requirements, or best practices, especially in the areas of Joint Interest Billing or Revenue Distribution procedures, including those driven by COPAS, individual JOA or Lease agreement, regulatory or statutory, and other factors;
Prepare thorough documentation and report of findings or conclusions, and effectively communicate with internal and external personnel, including persistence in interactions, negotiations, or follow through in order to resolve issue to their conclusion;
Effectively interact with internal and external auditors relevant to the Company\u2019s audit objectives;
Work on or lead complex or special projects on a team or independent basis;
Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Clarity of communication, both written and verbal;
Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to reconcile or analyze large volumes of data;
Ability to manage and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in a professional and discretionary manner;
Advanced technical PC skills including Excel, Word and Powerpoint;

Ability to work on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgement, analysis and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

This position involves the direct or indirect Management of the entire JIB staff, including direct reports who are at a Supervisory or Senior level.
