Responsible for conducting audits to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the company’s controls and processes related to accounting, finance, operations, compliance, and information technology systems. Communicate with management the audit results and propose recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve processes. Collaborate with Internal Audit management to drive process and quality improvements within the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead research, planning, and development of audit programs and assessment of risk for assigned audits.
Conduct and provide supervision of team for on-site audits of domestic and international locations with independence, objectivity and a high degree of professionalism; including conducting interviews, reviewing process and transaction flows, performing detailed testing of transactions and processes, making inquiries and observations, and analyzing trends and results.
Prepare reports for management and the Audit Committee with objective analysis and develop recommendations when current practices are not consistent with company policies and/or fail to provide necessary controls or support improvement of operational efficiencies.
Develop working relationships with individuals in key functions and business units.
Perform duties to support management and external auditors in their certifications for Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance.
Coordinate and manage relationship with external auditors and management to support completion of annual audit plan.
Assist in the preparation and execution of annual risk assessment of the company and development of internal audit plan.
Assist in reviewing, maintaining and updating accounting policies.
Independently manage portfolio of projects and meet agreed upon deadlines.
Interact with internal business partners to confirm, clarify, or supplement facts disclosed during the audit.
Identify and lead special projects to meet audit department objectives, as necessary
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent
5 years of experience in public accounting and/or internal audit, preferably with a manufacturing industry focus
CPA, CIA, or CISA certification(s) preferred
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance; ITGCs experience a plus
Skills and Knowledge:
Proficient in auditing principles, practices, and procedures to complete complex assignments
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and across cultures
Excellent verbal and written skills; foreign language skills a plus
Experience with technical report writing and advanced grammar proficiency
Advanced knowledge of financial systems and databases; data analytics experience a plus
Experience creating effective presentation materials using various tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Visio)
Ability to work with highly confidential information
Strong planning and organizational skills
Ability to flex between working independently under minimal supervision and leading collaborative efforts in a team setting
Standard, fast-paced office environment
Travel required, including international locations (20%)
