As a member of our Audit Department, you will be assigned to client projects and engagements and gain real-life business experiences. By working on various client engagements, you will have the opportunity to begin creating your own business network and will receive training, both on the job and departmental specific. Additionally, you will take part in our continuing professional education and learn about the world of accounting and our client service philosophy. Responsibilities: \u2022 Lead audit engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing the engagement while managing client deadline expectations, monitoring actual performance against budget; and continually communicating engagement status to the manager and partner. \u2022 Develop and maintain a relationship with the client and proactively work with the client\u2019s management to gather necessary audit information, identify issues and make recommendations for business improvements and identify potential additional business opportunities. \u2022 Supervise, train and mentor Audit Staff and Interns, including the detailed review of staff prepared workpapers and evaluate performances on client engagements. \u2022 Gain a comprehensive understanding of PCAOB and generally accepted auditing standards \u2022 Assist with business proposals, networking and recruiting opportunities \u2022 Must be highly dedicated with a positive attitude, self-motivated, a team player who takes initiative and willing to learn Requirements \u2022 2 years of public accounting external audit experience \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Master\u2019s degree is preferred \u2022 CPA or a CPA candidate \u2022 Strong background in technical accounting of GAAP & GAAS \u2022 Strong leadership, management, networking and mentoring skills \u2022 Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills Whitley Penn LLP is an equal opportunity employer.
