Responsibilities include managing and executing portfolio of special projects and activities of higher complexity with limited supervision, and maintaining relationships with audit leadership and management teams, external auditors, and regulatory examiners. Another primary responsibility is to demonstrate solid knowledge of Fannie Mae?s key risks and processes and be the change agent to help develop capabilities to strengthen understanding of industry, business and regulatory issues, and Internal Audit (IA) best practices.KEY JOB FUNCTIONSManage and execute a portfolio of special projects and the highest complexity activities of IAPP. Propose and implement enhanced solutions for high-quality Audit Committee and other Board of Directors' level committee meeting materials. Develop, manage, and perform periodic review of the IA policy, methodologies, and procedures that adhere to the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), regulatory agency guidance, and industry best practices. Proactively monitor for changes to industry and regulatory requirements, guidance, and pronouncements and ensure compliance by updating and/or developing new procedures. In addition, develop, provide and coach the department on new procedures on a routine basis. Manage the overall Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) which assess adherence to IIA Standards and IA policy, methodology and procedures. This includes work on a variety of special and complex projects that will provide quality assurance for the internal audit function and work to implement process improvements for the Division. Manage the quarterly and annual risk assessment process, including identifying and reporting on critical risks through a collaborative risk assessment process. Manage the development of the comprehensive annual audit plan and identify emerging risks that may impact the audit plan. In addition, propose and implement enhancements to existing risk assessment and annual planning practices. Serve as one of IA?s primary representative for corporate-wide committees and initiatives, as applicable.
