The Senior Accountant will work on a high visibility assignment to help develop and maintain productive working relationships with our federal client, and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of accounting and auditing concepts. The Senior Accountant will also be required to effectively update and brief accounting and audit matters to Managers and Principals. Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below: Required Skills Ability to identify performance improvement opportunities Ability to query and research transactions in a general ledger module of an enterprise resource planning system Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment Execute the day-to-day accounting and audit activities of the engagement and conduct fieldwork daily Experience developing and maintaining productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and results-oriented Experience drafting reports and findings Required Experience BA\/BS degree from an accredited college\/university in Accounting 2 years of accounting and auditing experience Experience working with Federal and\/or DoD clients Experience working with and manipulating large data sets in MS Excel or equivalent Ability to navigate a transaction database and determine potential issues or inappropriate posting Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills Active U.S. Secret level security clearance (requires US Citizenship) CPA,CGFM, or CDFM highly desirable Kearney & Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other classification protected by law.
