In accordance with section 165 of the Dodd-Frank Act (DFA), BNP Paribas has established an Intermediate Holding Company (IHC) over its US subsidiaries. Furthermore, BNP Paribas has set up a Combined US Operations (CUSO) and IHC governance framework to support capital, liquidity, ALM risk management, and regulatory reporting.
Inspection Générale North America (IGNA) Hub is part of BNP Paribas’ global Internal Audit group (Inspection Générale or “IG”) which is staffed by highly qualified individuals who perform risk-based reviews to provide reasonable assurance to senior management on the adequacy of internal controls and recommend control and efficiency improvements
IGNA has built an Enterprise Risk Management team to evaluate the bank’s capital planning, ALM and liquidity risk management, operational risk, and model risk management practices. In addition, the team also evaluates broader Enhanced Prudential Standards (EPS) requirements related to Risk Management and Board Governance.
The ALMT and Liquidity Risk Internal Auditor will play a key role in supporting the internal audit team to independently assess the effectiveness of the ALMT and Liquidity risk management framework (governance, liquidity stress testing, FTP, CFP, 5G reporting, IRRBB, Treasury Operations etc.)
The auditor will also liaise with Senior Management in charge of ALMT and Risk Management, and attend as an observer ALCOs and other relevant committees.
Lead large complicated, integrated audits as the Head of Assignment. Responsible for the related audit scoping, planning, evaluating reporting, and supervising.
Understand and assess the underlying risk applicable to the area of audit responsibilities through continuous monitoring activities.
Review and prepare risk assessments.
Manage the assignment team, budget and priorities while performing the audit reviews
Employ analytical skills to analyze activities and processes using the BNP Paribas Audit Methodology and Tools
Take ownership of the quality and reliability of the audit reports, findings and deliverables
Add value to the Business by raising relevant recommendations
Deliver clear presentations to Senior Management and Internal Audit Management
Follow up issued audit and regulatory recommendations and validate proper implementation
Investigate large incidents and fraud cases if and when necessary
Participate in the recruitment, training and development of audit staff
Improve personal and professional development by keeping up-to-date with changes in financial services and products and attending training courses / sitting exams
Adopt and promote good ethical values.
Write reports with value added recommendations.
Keep abreast of the evolution of ALMT and Liquidity Risk and related regulatory guidance through training, publications and seminars.
Participate in various committees as assigned to provide reports and information on current/emerging business issues to top management.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in applicable and related field (Finance and/or Accounting preferred)
Minimum years of audit and/or risk experience in the ALM, Liquidity or Treasury in the Banking industry: Typically 8
Solid understanding of ALMT and Liquidity Risk Management concepts and related regulatory expectations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with the different stakeholders and regulators.
Ability to work in a team, liaise with other bank departments and adapt to new situations and approaches.
A strong background in ALM and Liquidity Risk auditing or consulting for Financial Services is a key requirement for this position.
Licenses and certifications such as FRM and CPA.
Strong knowledge of ALMT operations and Risk Management, financial products and capital markets.
