Performs advanced professional auditing of all University operations and applies internal audit standards in the conduct of work. Audit work will include, but not be limited to, audits of the medical school.
Supervises and is responsible for all phases of an audit or investigation: conducting research to provide background information, conducting risk assessments, issuing audit engagement letters, writing audit programs, conducting interviews and preparing interview notes, performing audit tests, writing work papers, organizing work papers, preparing findings and recommendations for client's response, and writing audit reports. Prepares responses to non-routine management requests within limited time frames, as requested. Responsible for leading meetings and working toward resolving client differences, if any. Prepares and makes presentations to the Institutional Audit Committee. May assist in recruiting audit staff. Attends professional training to meet continuing professional education requirements.
Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management, business administration, or related business field. Three years of experience in commercial or governmental auditing or accounting. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Medical school audit experience. Additional consideration may be given for these qualifications: a master's degree in accounting, finance, management, business administration, or related business field; job-related experience, professional certifications (certified public accountant, certified internal auditor, certified information systems auditor). Applicant must earn a grade of 75 or higher on the department-administered auditing test.

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
