Work you ll do
As a Senior Consultant within our practice, you will:
Designand implement technical solutions to improve financial management activities
Assistwith accounting and financial reporting operations, and work with clients toidentify financial control issues and gap
Adviseour clients on technical accounting and internal controls matters
Performproject tasks independently, and may direct the efforts of others
Participatein and/or lead the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of theclient and contract
Anticipateclient needs and formulate solutions to client issues
Reviewdeliverables for accuracy and quality
Providescoaching to junior staff
Contributeto new business proposals and proposal development
Manageown personal and professional development; seeks opportunities for professionalgrowth and expansion of consulting skills and experience

Our GPS FinRisk professionals help finance leaders solvecomplex issues impacting risk, integrity and efficiency. Our team helps clientsprepare for financial close, address compliance regulations, improve processand controls around financial reporting, and implement new accountingrequirements. Our practice can provide the support organizations need with acomprehensive approach to tackle the most challenging accounting and financialissues that impact risk within an agency environment.
Bachelor'sdegree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other Business-related field
ActiveTS security clearance (or higher) is required for this role
2 yearsof experience performing financial statement audits and/or auditabilityassessments; reviewing, analyzing, validating, and reconcilingfinancial/accounting information
Experiencewith business process design and re-design
Knowledgeof and experience improving Federal accounting and transaction process,internal control objectives and generally accepted accounting principles
Knowledgeof Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and/or OMB Circular A-123 documentation,Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR), controls testing and reportingrequirements
Experienceworking independently with minimal supervision and guidance
Strongproblem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising maturejudgment
Provenexperience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and workobjectives
Demonstratedability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wideaudience
Proficiencyin word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well asInternet research tools
ManagementInternal Controls Program (MICP), Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting(ICOFR) Testing, Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Improvement Act(IPERIA) Support, Audit Sustainment, Risk Management, Business Processes,Corrective Actions
Certificationsincluding CPA, CDFM, CGFM, CFA, CISA, CIA
