The Audit Senior is responsible for numerous financial tasks in the office, including tasks related to taxes, accounting, and budgeting. The ideal candidate is a functional multitasker! The position pays between $80 to $90K per year depending on the candidate’s experience and skills.
Responsibilities of the Audit Senior include:
Reviewing accounts receivable to evaluate the adequacy of provision for loss.
Tracing inventory items observed at the initial count to actual final inventory record.
Obtaining representation letters from the client.
Taking ownership of engagement: meeting or beating established deadlines!
Reviewing internal control.
Investigating the possibility of unrecorded revenues.
Classifying accounts for financial statement presentation.
Supervising and evaluating inventory count/items.
Reviewing basis of inventory valuation.
Evaluating the propriety of depreciation methods and lives used.
Determining possible contingent liabilities by correspondence with attorneys, examination of minutes, inquiries to client, and so forth.
Determining the extent of test-checking required in an audit and select the period to be tested.
Preparing complicated business and individual tax returns, such as consolidated returns, and returns on dissolution or liquidation.
Suggesting client tax planning ideas to Manager, Senior Manager, or Principal.
Reviewing entries subsequent to balance sheet date to determine need for disclosures.
Obtaining and writing up disclosure data such as leases, differences between tax and accrual reporting, and so forth.
Reviewing and updating clients’ permanent file.
Drafting reports including footnotes and preparing routine correspondence to clients
Supervising and training associates.
Preparing budgets and monitor the budget throughout the engagement, alerting the Manager/ Senior Manager/Principal if the time is exceeding the budget.
Preparing tax correspondence.
Identifying problems early in engagements and to deal with them timely and efficiently.
Follow regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and state society.
Follow firm procedures and comply with firm policies.
Performing and direct the broadest range of accounting tasks.
Suggest and help sell expanded services to existing clients.
Participate in marketing and business development training sessions.
Participate in firm activities such as training and recruiting.

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting
CPA license
Experience with the techniques and principles of taxation, accounting, and auditing
Ability to work overtime as required
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and supervisors
Demonstrates a positive marketing attitude and takes an active interest in the company
Self-motivated and can perform most engagements with minimal supervision
Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, instruct, and review others
