Overview and Qualifications
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for designing, conducting and facilitating educational training to employees in coding and documentation specialist positions within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. System facilities in the use of all systems utilized in Medical Center Coding. Conducts new employee orientation and training for all new staff employed within the department. Works with the managers of Medical Center Coding to develop and maintain current training materials and conduct on-going training to all staff as coding guidelines, rules, and regulations change. Will assist in coding quality assessments and utilize that data to develop individual education plans for staff. This position will drive the ICD-10 readiness and training along with continued condition after implementation.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree/Four years Coding experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree
Required License:
Certified Coding Specialist
Preferred License:
Certified Coding Specialist and Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist/Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner.
Required Experience:
Minimum of two years of Coding experience
Preferred Experience:
Previous training or auditing experience preferred
