Job Purpose\r
An inventory auditor job involves continuous accuracy check of perpetual inventory quantity records for material control and shrink purposes as well as, the review and compliance of safety and security issues in the field involving vans and storage units.  Investigates discrepancies, locates error sources, source of shrink from inventories and customer stock.  Communicates policy and procedures as wells root causes and recommends solutions for improvement with customers and internal staff.  Duties include advising management and customer on process and inventory\/shrink concerns, and recommend improvements to the system. \r

Duties:\r

Analyzing data\r
Build and maintain relationships with store personnel and management\r
Conduct physical rep inventory counts \r
Track and report record accuracy and root cause statistics\r
Train reps on procedures and how to maintain and improve shrink \r
Communicate with management on project objectives, progress and results, collaborate with management to resolve audit issues in a timely manner\r
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge\/skill.\r
Perform other duties as assigned.\r

Ability to read and interpret documents and reports; including but not limited to,  instructions, correspondence, and memos, analyzing data reports, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write complex reports and correspondence. \r

Mathematical Skills:\r
\r
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Attention to detail and ability to focus on detailed reporting.\r

Reasoning Ability:\r
\r
Must be able to understand and provide a root cause analysis for each error found in perpetual inventory records.  Must be able to read through transaction history and consider sequence of events to help others understand and eliminate the source or cause of errors.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\r
\r
COMPUTER SKILLS:\r
\r
Formal use of Inventory control systems including cycle count tools, transaction history screens and account correcting transactions. Ability to use Crystal reporting and Oracle.                                   \r
Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, internet, word processing, spreadsheets, graphs, etc. Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, etc.\r
\r
PLANNING\/ORGANIZATION:\r
\r
The ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize their importance, organization and the ability to delegate assignments.\r
\r
SUPERVISION:\r
\r
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. Strong sense of personal accountability and integrity. Self-awareness to know when to seek Supervisor input and counseling.\r
\r
Physical Demands:\r
\r
Physical activity will be moderate may require occasional strenuous activity. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel,  stand, walk and reach with hands and arms, lift and\/or move up to 50 pounds. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right, while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus to bring an object into sharp focus are required.\r

EDUCATION:\r
\r
High school diploma or GED required. College or Associate's degree preferred. Certifications in business classes (accounting, bookkeeping, Microsoft Office \/ Excel) a plus.\r
\r
EXPERIENCE:\r
\r
Minimum three years in warehouse clerical, merchandising, inventory specialist or related area. Proven experience in working with Excel at an intermediate level. \r
\r
Work Environment:\r
\r
The work environment is indoor and outdoor varying environments with adequate ventilation.\r
\r
TRAVEL:\r
\r
Extensive overnight travel (up to 80%) by land and\/or air.\r
\r

Internal: Executive VP of Sales, Sales Regional Managers, Sales Reps, Purchasing Department, Operations, IT, Accounting, Production, Department Heads, as well as support staff.\r
External: Corporate Executives, Store Managers, Support Staff, Customer and vendors. \r
\r
WORK SCHEDULE \/ HOURS:\r
\r
This position requires the ability to meet deadlines, so a flexible schedule is required. Normal hours are Monday through Friday with additional days and extended hours as necessary to fulfill responsibilities.\r
\r
