Internal Auditor Job Openings
An internal auditor job applicant is responsible for planning, organizing, and carrying out internal audit functions including preparation of an audit plan. Other responsibilities include scheduling, assigning work, and estimating resource needs; providing both management and the audit committee with an opinion on internal controls; and reviewing and reporting on the accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of financial and other information. An internal auditor assists the senior staff as deemed necessary.
An internal auditor should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. Experience of 2 to 5 years of in accounting and auditing is preferred for such positions. A CPA or CIA certification is a plus. An internal auditor should have knowledge of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, and test and sampling methods involved in conducting audits. Knowledge of computerized accounting and auditing record keeping systems is also important.
